A PVC floor machine price is meaningful only when you know exactly what the equipment will produce and where the quoted process ends. A line that delivers unfinished sheets has a different scope from a system that delivers coated, cut and packaged flooring.

For flooring manufacturers and investors, the first purchasing question should therefore be: What is included in this price, and what must we provide separately?

A complete PVC flooring production project can cover material preparation, forming, layer bonding, surface finishing, cutting, product inspection and packaging. The required equipment depends on whether you manufacture flexible LVT, rigid-core SPC or another specified vinyl flooring construction.

This guide explains how to define the equipment package, identify additional costs and request a quotation that matches your intended finished product.

How Much Does a PVC Floor Machine Cost?

There is no single price for every PVC floor machine. A usable quotation needs a defined flooring structure, capacity, automation level and supply boundary.

Start by asking for three separate totals: the main forming line, the complete machinery package and the additional costs required to start production at your factory.

Quotation level

What the quotation should identify

What still needs confirmation

Main forming line

The specified extrusion or forming section and its immediate downstream units

Mixing, finishing, utilities and packaging

Complete flooring machinery package

All named machines needed to reach the agreed finished-product stage

Site connections, installation expenses and startup materials

Installed production project

Machinery plus specifically agreed installation and commissioning work

Building work, inventory, local charges and other buyer responsibilities

The word “complete” does not automatically include every factory expense. Request an itemized scope before treating any advertised price as your project budget.

The numerical example later in this article explains budget calculation. It is hypothetical and is not a current market price or a Kingshine quotation.

Define the Flooring Before Comparing Machine Prices

“PVC flooring” covers several product constructions. Their manufacturing requirements should be specified separately.

Flexible LVT Flooring

For flexible luxury vinyl tile or plank, describe the layer structure, overall thickness, wear layer, backing and installation format. Confirm the proposed forming and lamination route, together with any conditioning or stabilization stages required for that construction.

Dryback flooring does not need a click-lock profile. Buying profiling equipment for a dryback-only project adds unnecessary scope.

Rigid-Core SPC Flooring

For SPC, define the core thickness, formulation, decorative layers and click profile. The proposal should address both core production and the downstream operations required for the finished plank.

Kingshine’s SPC flooring production equipment includes options for extrusion, coating, cutting, profiling and backing attachment. Confirm the exact selection in your quotation.

Sheet and Roll Flooring

Continuous sheet or roll flooring requires a separately specified process. Do not assume that an LVT or SPC plank line can produce it simply by changing the cutting length.

Provide a sample or construction drawing and ask for written confirmation of the suitable process and equipment.

What Equipment Should a Complete PVC Flooring Line Include?

The following sections are a purchasing checklist. Their functions may be combined in one machine or provided by separate units, depending on the production route.

1. Raw Material Preparation and Feeding

Define whether the factory will start with individual ingredients or a prepared compound.

For ingredients mixed on site, request the appropriate weighing, mixing, cooling, storage and feeding arrangement. Identify manual and automatic tasks, and specify how low-dose additives are handled.

Check whether the quoted conveying system reaches the intended storage and production locations. A feeder supplied with the extruder is not necessarily a complete factory material-handling system.

2. Extrusion or Other Primary Forming Equipment

For an extrusion-based line, specify the extruder, screw and barrel, drive, temperature controls and material-feeding arrangement.

Ask the quotation to connect the machine configuration with your actual material and product. A motor rating or screw diameter alone cannot establish the output of acceptable flooring.

If a different forming route is proposed, request the same clarity about material input, process stages and output specification.

3. Die, Calendering and Thickness Control

Confirm the die specification, usable production width, thickness range and roll configuration.

The width of the equipment is not necessarily the width of saleable material after trimming. State both values in the production assumptions.

Also identify which adjustments are manual and whether measurement or automatic control systems are included. List the supplied tooling rather than assuming every future product size is covered.

4. Decorative Film and Wear-Layer Lamination

Specify the number of unwind positions, compatible film dimensions, tension control, guiding and roll-change procedure.

For multilayer products, identify each layer that the line must apply, including a balance layer where required. The proposal should explain how the layers are combined and how bonding quality will be evaluated.

Kingshine’s LVT flooring production line describes a balance-layer lamination configuration. Its suitability should be checked against the intended flooring structure.

5. Embossing and Optional Online EIR

Specify the required surface texture and the tooling supplied with the machine.

If you need embossed-in-register, or EIR, flooring, request a separate description of registration capability, matched décor tooling and acceptance criteria. Conventional embossing can also operate online; “online” alone does not mean EIR.

Record the number of included textures and the cost of introducing additional compatible designs.

6. Cooling, Haul-Off, Cutting and Handling

Define the output of this section: continuous sheet, cut sheets or another intermediate format.

Confirm cooling requirements, cutting accuracy, stack size and how material moves to the next operation. Include any separate conditioning stage required by the selected process.

Distinguish cooling equipment mounted on the line from the factory water-cooling system that supplies it.

7. Surface Coating and Curing

Where the flooring specification requires an in-house UV coating process, identify the application units, curing system, working width and compatible coating requirements.

Ask whether coating preparation, surface cleaning and inspection are part of the package. State who supplies coating materials for commissioning and routine production.

Machine supply and finished-flooring performance testing should be defined as separate deliverables.

8. Final Cutting, Profiling and Backing

The finishing package depends on the product. Dryback tiles may require a different cutting arrangement from click-lock planks.

For click flooring, confirm the specified edge geometry, machining equipment, cutters and measurement tools. Clarify responsibility for any applicable third-party locking-system arrangements.

If an attached backing is required, list the backing application equipment and material specification. Do not assume it is included in the decorative-layer laminating system.

9. Packaging, Inspection and Scrap Handling

Define the packing endpoint: loose accepted planks, cartons or finished pallets.

List inspection instruments and sampling requirements. Identify whether recycling equipment is included and which scrap streams it can process.

Clean production trim and waste containing several films, coatings or backing materials should not automatically be assigned the same reuse route.

Which Items Are Included, Optional or Supplied by the Buyer?

There is no universal inclusion list. Require every quotation line to carry a status such as included, separately priced, buyer-supplied or not applicable.

Item

Question to resolve before ordering

Mixing and feeding

Are all required preparation stages included, or only the extruder feeder?

Dies and rolls

How many tools, textures and product configurations are supplied?

Lamination

Which layers can be applied in the quoted arrangement?

EIR

Is it included, separately priced or unavailable in this configuration?

UV finishing

Are application, curing and associated handling included?

Cutting and profiling

Does the package deliver sheets, dryback tiles or finished click planks?

Backing attachment

Is the required pad application process included?

Packaging

Where does automatic handling end?

Utilities

Who supplies and connects cooling, air and electrical services?

Inspection and spares

Which instruments, cutters and spare parts are itemized?

Commissioning

What trial materials, services and travel expenses are covered?

For each interface between machines, assign responsibility for conveyors, controls and installation. This helps prevent two separately quoted machines from leaving an unplanned gap in the production flow.

What Drives PVC Flooring Production Line Cost?

Product Range and Tooling

A factory producing one established specification needs a different quotation from a factory planning frequent changes in width, thickness, décor and surface treatment.

List launch products separately from future products. Ask which later changes require only settings, which need tooling, and which require additional equipment.

Accepted Output and Downstream Capacity

Compare output using the same product and material conditions. Request both the forming-section rate and the expected finished-product rate.

For example, if the upstream process supplies 150 m²/h but finishing can accept only 100 m²/h for the same product, the sustained finished output cannot exceed that downstream limit without a change in scheduling or capacity.

These figures illustrate a bottleneck; they are not equipment specifications.

Automation and Product Handling

Separate process automation from handling automation. Temperature control, material dosing, stacking and carton packing solve different operating needs.

Ask for staffing assumptions at each stage. Identify the automation that is needed for quality or capacity before deciding which handling upgrades can be added later.

Additional Costs Beyond the Machine Quotation

Prepare a separate list for expenses that depend on your factory and location:

  • Packing, transport, insurance, unloading and positioning.

  • Applicable import charges and local taxes.

  • Electrical distribution, cables, piping and utility connections.

  • Cooling-water and compressed-air systems where required.

  • Installation services, travel, accommodation and local assistance.

  • Trial materials, startup scrap and production consumables.

  • Initial spare parts, inspection tools and inventory.

  • Building preparation and operating cash requirements.

Check the delivery basis and named destination against the written quotation. Do not count an expense twice when it is already included in another package.

“Turnkey” also needs a responsibility schedule: define what Kingshine supplies, what local contractors perform and what your factory prepares.

Example: Building a PVC Flooring Project Budget

The table below is an invented budgeting exercise. The amounts are not price estimates, industry averages or Kingshine offers. Replace every figure with a project quotation or local cost calculation.

Hypothetical budget item

Illustrative amount, USD

Main forming and lamination package

$300,000

Selected finishing and packaging equipment

$75,000

Additional auxiliary equipment, tools and initial spares

$25,000

Transport, unloading and positioning allowance

$20,000

Site utility connections and preparation allowance

$30,000

Installation and commissioning allowance

$15,000

Initial materials and operating cash allowance

$35,000

Subtotal for the listed items

$500,000

In this example, the quoted main package is $300,000, the combined machinery budget is $400,000, and the listed startup subtotal is $500,000.

The subtotal excludes land or building purchase, applicable duties and taxes, financing and any additional contingency. It is not a complete budget until those items have been evaluated.

The lesson is to reconcile scope before comparing totals. A lower headline amount can simply represent an earlier stopping point in the manufacturing process.

How to Compare PVC Floor Machine Quotations

Send the same product specification to each quotation request and compare the resulting documents against one checklist:

  1. Product: Identical structure, dimensions, surface and backing requirements.

  2. Materials: Named grades or agreed representative formulations.

  3. Output: Accepted production rate, with test duration and operating assumptions.

  4. Scope: Every machine, tool, connection and service accounted for.

  5. Utilities: Installed power distinguished from measured or estimated consumption.

  6. Support: Training, documentation, spares, warranty and service terms stated.

  7. Acceptance: Agreed tests for the equipment and relevant finished-product characteristics.

Tie the trial run to the product you intend to sell. A short demonstration using a different thickness or structure does not establish performance for your order.

How to Control Investment Without Missing Essential Equipment

Start with a limited, commercially justified product range. Price the configuration needed for those products and identify future upgrades separately.

An existing factory may be able to reuse preparation, cooling or finishing equipment, but check compatibility and available capacity first.

Phase optional automation where practical. Preserve the equipment needed to achieve the agreed product specification and process stability.

For operating comparisons, calculate energy and consumables per accepted square meter. If installed electrical power is the only figure available, request a consumption estimate with its assumptions rather than treating that rating as continuous electricity use.

What Information Is Needed for an Accurate Quotation?

Prepare a short project brief containing:

  • Flooring sample, cross-section or layer drawing.

  • Product type, plank or tile dimensions, core and overall thickness.

  • Wear layer, surface texture and backing requirements.

  • Required accepted output and planned operating hours.

  • Available raw materials and intended recycled-content policy.

  • Factory layout, location, power supply and existing equipment.

  • Automation preferences and launch product range.

  • Installation, training and trial-run expectations.

Specify whether your goal is to produce unfinished substrate, finished sheets or packaged flooring. This single distinction can change the equipment list substantially.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a PVC Floor Machine the Same as a Complete Production Line?

The term can describe different scopes. Use the itemized equipment list and agreed output stage to establish what the price covers.

Can One Line Produce Both LVT and SPC Flooring?

Compatibility requires an equipment-specific assessment. Different materials, layer structures and finishing requirements may require changes beyond the formulation.

Does the Price Include Decorative Film and Wear-Layer Production?

Do not assume so. A laminating system may apply purchased films without manufacturing them. Producing those materials in-house is a separate equipment scope.

Is a Mixing System Always Required?

The answer depends on the material supplied to the line. A project using individual ingredients has different preparation requirements from one using a suitable prepared compound.

Is Click-Lock Profiling Needed for Dryback LVT?

No click profile is required for dryback flooring. Specify the intended installation format before selecting downstream equipment.

Does Online Embossing Automatically Include EIR?

No. EIR requires the texture to register with the decorative design. Confirm registration capability, compatible tooling and acceptance conditions separately.

Are Chillers and Compressors Included?

Only when they are listed in the supply scope. Confirm required utility capacity, equipment ownership and site connections.

Are Installation and Operator Training Included?

Check the written service terms. Separate engineering services from travel expenses, local labor, utility work and commissioning materials.

Does the Machine Price Include Flooring Certification?

Do not assume it does. Machine documentation and finished-flooring testing concern different deliverables. Agree on the tests, samples and responsibilities for your target market.

Can the Production Line Be Expanded Later?

Expansion depends on the original layout, controls, utilities and machine compatibility. Identify planned upgrades before ordering so their requirements can be considered.
